Time:  5:00-6:50 pm

Description: This class will present the use of physical agent modalities as a therapeutic intervention for UE diagnoses. Participants will develop an understanding of the evidence-based use of typical physical agent modalities and the indications/contraindications of each modality.
Physical agent modalities covered: heat/cold, ultrasound, electrical stimulation)

Objectives:
  1. Identify the different types of physical agent modalities used by occupational & physical therapists on clients with varying diagnoses
  2. Recognize the indications and contraindications for the use of physical agent modalities
  3. Describe and understand the evidence based use of physical agent modalities on various diagnoses to enhance participation in daily tasks
The courses are approved by the New York State Board for Occupational Therapy for up to 2 Continued Competency Hours (CCH) (.2CEU)
