Time: 5:00-6:50 pm
Description: This class provides an overview of the
lymphatic system, the causes of lymphedema, and the impact of lymphedema on
daily life. Both manual lymph drainage and bandaging/compression will be
presented as methods of managing lymphedema.
Objectives:
- Demonstrate a basic understanding of the lymphatic system
- Define lymphedema and its potential impact on daily life/ADL
- Describe the therapeutic techniques associated with manual lymph drainage and bandaging/compression
The courses are approved by the New York State Board for Occupational Therapy for up to 2 Continued Competency Hours (CCH) (.2CEU)
